Meet Ruth
I know, even without meeting you yet, that you are harboring a secret.
It is the key to getting where you want to be professionally; the story of your professional powers. I want to help you identify it, tell it, and get that job interview.
My name is Ruth, and I have sat where you are. I changed careers twice, and I have endured the anxiety and agony of having to craft my story over and over in the hope that it would turn into an offer for a job that mattered.
I learned that staying consistent with who I am is key to feeling successful. I want to help you through this process, so that you can share your gifts in a satisfying way.

THE STORY IS THERE. LET’S FIND IT.
I have been telling stories for more than 35 years, for newspapers, for companies, for philanthropic organizations, and for individuals. I look forward to helping find yours and telling it effectively, to yourself and your next employer.
I began my career as a print journalist, working in the field for 20 years, then pivoted to grant writing for a variety of nonprofit clients. I have written thousands of words that have raised community awareness, brought in dollars, and convinced hiring managers to speak to a must-see candidate.
I want to find your story and then empower you to embrace it and share it, and live your true purpose.
I became a career professional because I saw how powerful this work is. There is nothing more important than being able to make a living. I have switched industries and changed my focus more than once. I have learned that the work of self-reflection and exploration is critical to this process.
Here’s where most people fail: They believe first that there are “rules” to establishing a successful career. The truth is that there are many paths to career happiness.
Secondly, they believe that merely having an updated, ATS-friendly resume is the key to getting hired. This is misguided. Once you know your mission, getting the job is about effectively communicating your value to employers (or clients). This transcends a mere summary of a career history.
Job satisfaction is an holistic process.
Let’s work together to embrace the spectrum of activities that will help you live your best life.
I have developed my own coaching methodology for career clarification and job search that has helped my clients time win positions. I want you to be next.
Are You Ready?
I work personally with candidates, taking on select clients each month so that I can ensure we have time to deeply explore how their, then match these opportunities.
I bring to this work a deep curiosity, and an inquiry process meant to uncover more than just a list of job achievements. I want to know why you love doing what you do and what makes you a genius at it. That’s the furnace fueling your success. I also bring to this work more than translation of your achievements: I want to help you figure out what truly makes you happy, and then go after the roles that fit.

YOUR STORY. MY PROCESS
My process starts with exploration. I want to help you identify the source of your professional dissatisfaction.
Then, we conquer it with reflective exercises and research to determine what could fill the void.
Ultimately, we will communicate your value to the employers you have selected, or to the customers and clients you want to help.
I use an in-depth interviewing method to help me capture necessary details of your career story, then produce for you a resume, a LinkedIn profile, and related materials that may be specific to your particular search or business goal.
I don’t do “one size” template work. Your story is unique; so are your needs. But results will be the same: Clear and concise messaging, that will – as long as you follow the program – help attract inquiries from recruiters, invitations to interview and hopefully lead to job offers.
WE ARE A TEAM
I take pride in the fact that I personally serve all of my clients. I don’t farm out the writing work. Is it more time-consuming for me? Yes. But this is my mission: To empower you to take charge of your career decisions. No one should feel marginalized by a complicated hiring process that feels designed to weed people out.
I have sat where you sit. I have felt your pain and frustration.
You’ve heard of the Great Resignation? Well, I was part of the advance wave! I started diversifying my skills and pivoting to different roles before it was popular.
I have won offers doing work I wanted to do – and I helped others do the same. My mission is to transmit to you my courage and share what I’ve learned, because you are more powerful than you think you are.
I look forward to being your personal accountability partner! I won’t let you off the hook. That’s my job.
